The Chicago Bears enter the 2011 season with high expectations after falling just one game short of the Super Bowl a year ago. High expectations are nothing new to the Bears whose historic franchise holds the record for most all-time wins and most players inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. With an experienced coaching staff and a veteran roster, there’s no telling how far the Bears will go this season. Get your 2011 Chicago Bears tickets at Gold Coast Tickets today!
Returning for his 8th season, Coach Lovie Smith is relying on perennial pro-bowlers Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and Julius Peppers defensively, as well as offensive stand outs Matt Forte and Jay Cutler to make another playoff run. GM Jerry Angelo was very active the off-season trying to improve the squad for this upcoming season. The Bears used the NFL Draft to address their offensive line problems by drafting Gabe Carimi while using the Free Agency period to replace some old faces (Olin Kruetz, Tommie Harris, Greg Olsen, Danieal Manning and Brad Maynard) with new some faces (Roy Williams, Marion Barber, Amobi Okoye and Brandon Meriweather).
Making a repeat appearance in the NFC Championship game will be a difficult task for the Bears because they are playing in arguably the best conference in the NFL.
The NFC North is home to the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Green Bay Packers, an extremely talented Detroit Lions team, and the Minnesota Vikings who boast one of the NFL’s elite running backs. The Bears will to face off against each of these teams twice including playing the Lions on Monday Night Football, Packers on Christmas and the Vikings on New Year’s Day.
Outside of conference play, the schedule doesn’t get much easier. The Bears have match-ups against some of the best teams in the National Football League including the Atlanta Falcons (week 1), New Orleans Saints (week 2) and the Philadelphia Eagles (week 9). The Bears will also be representing the NFL in London week 7 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bears will line-up just 8 times this year at Soldier Field so be sure not to miss out on the action!
